.22 Benchrest
Discipline Director: Dick Hohstadt
The 22 benchrest matches are fired at 50 yards on the International Benchrest Shooters (IBS) 50-yard target which has 4 sighter bulls and 25 record bulls. Shooters have 20 minutes to shoot the target.
Scoring is by the best edge of the bullet hole and a perfect score is 250 and 25X.
Shoot two of target sheets to complete the match.
The final score then could be 500-50X. If we have too many perfect scores, we will just move the targets out farther. You will place/retrieve and score your own targets
Some novelty targets may be used for fun after the main match is over.
Rifle categories:
Factory – As sold by the manufacturer
Sporter – As above but may have trigger work, bedding, and any sights
Unlimited – Custom barrels, stocks etc., and any sights
Participants shoot from a bench and may use a bi-pod, bi-pod and rear bag, or any two-piece rest, but no lead sleds or one-piece rests. A spotting scope is handy, as well as a stapler for the targets.
Matches start at 9:00 so you will need to arrive about 8:30 to get signed in and set up your target.
