About LGRPC
The LGRPC encourages organized rifle, pistol and archery shooting among U.S. citizens and our local community to increase knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship.
We nurture characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play, and self-reliance — essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.
The La Grande Rifle & Pistol club has humble beginnings as an 18-member club formed on December 21, 1946. Upon incorporation, the La Grande Rifle Club applied to the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a Class A Club operating in La Grande.
In mid-1947, the Club leased a small parcel for its home base on the Grande Ronde River, today’s 100-Yard River Range. Over the next 75 years, the Club purchased the originally-leased plot, and through rich partnerships, grew its footprint to 286 acres of beautiful land in the Blue Mountains of Northeast Oregon.
Today, the Club hosts rifle, pistol, and archery events focusing on marksmanship, safe handling, and proper care of firearms to foster good sportsmanship and nurture true patriotism.
We are an all-volunteer club supported by paid memberships. All leadership positions are filled by active members, and monthly board meetings held the first Wednesday of every month are open to members. Check the Club Calendar for schedule changes.
