Air Gun Field Trial
Discipline Director: Lee Sancoy
At Air Rifle meets, we shoot mostly tip-over resettable, rocking, or swinging steel targets, and paper targets. Some targets may be as mall as one inch for a real challenge, or much larger depending on the station .
A typical match involves 4 to 6 stations, with about 10 shots per station at random distances of 10 to 50 yards, with stages designed for you to choose the shooting position: sitting, prone, standing, or with a rest.
Air Rifle is an excellent sport for youth and new shooters to build safety and marksmanship skills.
All air guns from old multi-pumps and spring pistons, to the latest pre-charged pneumatics (PCPs) in .177, .20 or .22 caliber are welcome.
Curious and just want to watch a match? Come on out and bring your family!
Match Results: April 2023
The four folks who showed for the April match weren’t really ready to shoot a match. They did sit around and talk a lot and show off newly purchased air guns. They also decided that the weather would be much better THIS month and we would have a real match no matter what. The match this month is this coming Sunday. Hope to see a bunch of folks there!!
