We had three regular shooters turn out and shoot this month.  As we were getting ready to tear down three new folks stopped by and we encouraged them to try the course.  They seemed to have a pretty good time and said we’d see them in July.  Hope they come back!  Here’s how the shooting wound up.

We had a small turn out in May, but the competition was pretty fierce. Darrel Croucher beat us all with the other Darrel (Plank) coming in second, not exactly a surprise there.  And I beat my better half by a tiny bit, but he was fighting with his cane and couldn’t get comfortable so it wasn’t really a fair contest.

The June match date is this Saturday the 7th, due to the archery folks rendezvous on our usual week.  If you have ANY kind of air gun rifle or pistol and want to come try some our nifty reactive targets please come out and join us.  If the weather is good we set up out in the sun (and shoot from the shade) and if its wet we shoot from under cover so don’t let the weather put you off.  Hope to see some new faces, both Darrels could use some better competition.

Four shooters showed up in September and shot 5 stages.  Since we missed
most of the summer everyone agreed that they would meet up again in
October and have one more match.  Since the weather is still warm I am
hoping that we get at least our regular shooters.  That would be the
20th which is this Sunday.  Now that Cherie has weaned all the baby
kittens and they have moved on to the next stage prior to getting new
homes maybe she will be able to shoot as well.

The September match wound up like this:

First, let me say everyone shot better last month.  Most of the bad
shots were pretty much the fault of the shooters not the air guns. I’d
be happy to document the match scores but our fearless leader couldn’t
find them. Since I’m pretty sure I was last I wasn’t too upset by that.

The July match will be held up in the pistol bays on
the upper range.  There is an event on the 100 yd. range that weekend,
plus, it’s a lot shadier up there and should be a bit cooler.  We will
meet at the storage shed at 9:00 to load up targets at the 100 yard
range and transport them to the upper range from there.  We WILL be
shooting in the shade if that helps anyone decide whether or not to come
out.  I am sure everyone is hoping its cooler by then.
